Jean-Baptiste-Henri Lacordaire, in French Father Henri-Dominique Lacordaire, born May 12, 1802 in Recey-sur-Ource (Côte-d'Or) and died November 21, 1861 in Sorèze (Tarn), was a French cleric, preacher, journalist and politician. Restorer in France of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), he is considered today as one of the precursors of liberal Catholicism. (Wikipedia).
Ludovic Penin, medal engraver in Lyon (1830-1868), was awarded the title of Pontifical Engraver by Pius IX in 1864 (Wikipedia).
