Jean-Baptiste-Henri Lacordaire, in French Father Henri-Dominique Lacordaire, born May 12, 1802 in Recey-sur-Ource (Côte-d'Or) and died November 21, 1861 in Sorèze (Tarn), was a French cleric, preacher, journalist and politician. Restorer in France of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), he is considered today as one of the precursors of liberal Catholicism.
