Comment
Fort de Leucate was besieged by the Spanish in 1590 and 1637. The final improvements were entrusted to Pierre de Conti, Seigneur d'Argencourt, in 1640 by order of Richelieu. Under the reign of Louis XIV, the useless fortress was razed in May 1665. This token certainly commemorates the fort's resistance in 1637.
