Rare medal by Camille Alaphilippe (Tours, 1874 - Algeria, after 1934). Pupil of Laurens and Barrias at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris. In 1898, he obtained the First Grand Prix of Rome for sculpture. After the Great War, demobilized, sick and ruined, he went to Algeria where he became head of the sculpture section at the School of Fine Arts in Algiers.
