Token from the establishment of Alfred Lehnen and Eugénie Gloden. The couple had been running a café in Ettelbruck since 1931. In the 1st phase, the café was listed at "rue de Bastogne" [tel. 304], and from the 1940s it was located at "18, rue de Feulen" [tel. 23 85]. Alfred Lehnen died in 1953 at the age of 50. His widow, Eugénie Gloden, took over the management for some time to come.Alfred Lehnen was the brother of the owners of the Angelsberg cafés [cf. Weiller# MA 024 - MA 028].
R. Weiller identifies this token in his 2nd book and lists it as ME 262. However, he had already mentioned its existence in his 1st work [cf. Weiller# ME 207 and Mα 114].
Weiller token no. 21. This Café Lehnen token was ordered in 1931 from Aloyse Anen and minted in 300 copies at the Fisch & Co workshop in Brussels.
