Comment

On 12 September 1814, the Federal Diet voted to admit Geneva, Neuchâtel and Valais into the Confederation. This event was followed by the signing of the definitive treaty admitting Geneva as the 22nd Swiss canton into the Confederation on 19 May 1815, after acceptance by all the member cantons.
