Token for the Weydert-Nicolay establishment at 2, rue Principale in Dickweiler (Remich). The café was run by the couple Mathias Weydert and Caroline Nicolay from 1920 to 1946. Following Caroline Nicolay's death on June 3, 1946, Mathias Weydert remained in charge until 1955. Weiller calls her "Catherine", but the obituaries of herself and her father refer to a "Caroline" Nicolay. The establishment no longer exists.
This is the second token for this establishment. The successor (Urbain Weydert) minted three different tokens. The present token is of Weiller type no. 50, struck between 1934 and 1971 at the Fisch & Cie workshop in Brussels. We can therefore date this token between 1934 and 1955.
