Comment

1863 Felix Dining Saloon, New York, NY -- Overstruck on an 1863 Cent -- . Fuld-NY630W-2do, R.8. Portions of the host coin remain visible on both sides of this near-Gem example, including portions of the shield to the left of the F in FELIX. These pieces are also of interest to collectors who specialize in saloon tokens or examples from Jewish issuers. The Hebrew text on the obverse is well-struck. This piece is bright and attractive and is the variety with the CONSTITUTION AND THE UNION reverse, although a portion of the text from the host coin remains in place of UNION.
