The establishment in question has been in the possession of the Fend family since the 1910s. Felix Fend, the first proprietor, seems to have been a relatively atypical person, a jack-of-all-trades and a maverick. In the 1920s and 1930s, Felix Fend was arrested, convicted or interned on several occasions for rebellion, threats to law enforcement, possession of firearms and other offences. However, this did not prevent him from being elected to the town council in October 1928 (he was the only candidate in the election). His role during the Nazi occupation remains obscure. On February 5, 1946, he was sentenced to 8 years' imprisonment and stripped of his Luxembourg nationality.

Felix Fend sold the business in May 1932 to Pierre Seiler and Marie Fend. Marie Fend's brother, Robert Fend, took over management of the establishment until 1937, when he had to declare bankruptcy. The Seiler-Fend couple then sold the premises.

Weiller type token no. 24, ordered by the intermediary firm Aloyse Anen and struck at the Fisch & Co workshop in Brussels.
