Token circa 1920.Until the Second World War, two cafés located south of the Place de la Comédie, between rue de Verdun and rue Maguelone became the site of an informal wine market every Tuesday: the "Grand Café de France et du Musée" on one hand, and the "Grand Café de Montpellier " on the other hand. After the war, they gave way to a Monoprix brand supermarket.
