Two varieties

Easiest differences are the dates and the vertical line that goes across the outline of Lake Tahoe. The line represents the state between Nevada and California.

Variety 1

Has serifs on the date. Numbers are much thicker.

Vertical line on the lake is dotted line.

The letters around the perimeter are rounded off on end of letter

Variety 2

Does not have serifs on the date. Numbers are much thinner.

Vertical line on the lake is chain links.

The letters around the perimeter are squared off on the end of letters

This token was minted in 1974. The 1965 date shown is the year the city was incorporated by the conjoining of half a dozen smaller communities.
