This medal was issued in 1915 by the Royal and Imperial 99th Infantry Regiment and for the widows and orphans and this regiment. The engraver Anton Grath himself joined this 99th Infantry Regiment where however he was not fit for purpose and soon fell of heavy illness.
The engraver created this medal whilst recovering from the field hospital.
