A native of Aveyron, Célestin Raynal, took over the café-hotel-restaurant, which was extended to include a ball in 1926. Unfortunately, the ball was not spared from quarrels between dancers. On New Year's Eve 1931, a café waiter and a woman bystander were shot by revolver bullets as part of a settling of scores. Raynal sold his business in 1939.
