The establishment at 13 rue de la Lappe in the 11th arrondissement was a café before being bought by the Bouscatel family in 1902 to become a bal musette. In 1919, it was sold to the Caracanague family. The development of the establishment from 1930 onwards lasted beyond the 1939-45 war. But by 1960, tastes had changed and, like many other bals, the Carcanague closed its doors.
This token is a variant of the token referenced 709 in Lariche's work, with different decorations on the obverse.
