Wallenstein in Altdorf is the name of a folk play by Franz Dittmar (1857-1915), which premiered in Altdorf near Nuremberg in 1894 and is still regularly performed in the historic courtyard of the Wichernhaus, the former University of Altdorf. Wallenstein had actually studied there in 1599; The place of performance and the place of action are therefore identical. Since 1952, performances have taken place as part of the Wallenstein Festival every three years between June and August.
