Arms of Pierre V Guérin, Cardinal de Tencin within an oval shield, the whole set on an eight-pointed cross, surrounded by the cordon of the order, stamped with the ducal crown, crested with a double-crossed episcopal cross; on the whole, a five-pointed cardinal's hat.

This token was struck after August 26, 1742, when Pierre Guérin was created Minister of State. The arms of Pierre V Guérin bear Or a tree Vert, on a chief Gules a mullet Or between two bezants Or. Pierre Guérin de Tencin was born in Grenoble on August 16, 1679 to Antoine Guérin de Tencin, councillor and later president à mortier of the Grenoble Parliament, and Louise de Buffévent. An Oratorian, he was appointed conclaviste to Cardinal Le Camus in November 1700, Grand Vicar of Sens in 1705, chargé des affaires de France auprès du Saint-Siège in 1721, Archbishop of Embrun in 1724, Cardinal in 1739 and Archbishop of Lyon on November 11, 1740, dying in office on March 2, 1758.
