Comment

"Namu Amida Butsu" is a Japanese version of nianfo, a phrase used in Pure Land Buddhism in prayer to Amitābha. This token (ezeni or esen) of "Reigan Nenbutsu" (霊岸念仏) type was privately struck in the Edo period and later eras as amulets of sorts.
