Abbé Joseph Marie Terray, abbé commendataire de Molesmes et Troarn, seigneur de La Motte-Tilly, was a French statesman who was born in Boën on December 9, 1715, and died in Paris on February 18 (or February 22?), 1778. He was the last Controller General of Finances under Louis XV (1771-1774). (source cgb)
