Comment
Round medal in modern bronze struck for the jubilee of the 900th anniversary of the death of Pope Leo IX in 1954. On one side, in the center, the pope's bust on the left, surrounded by the inscription "STVS LEO IX PONT. MAX.", signed "T. R. A". On the other side, two coats of arms, one with two crossed keys (papal or Eguisheim coat of arms?) and the other with a rampant lion (Dabo coat of arms?), and two stoles with the inscriptions "+ 1054", "+ 1954". The bélière is present. Leon IX was an Alsatian pope, born Bruno d'Eguisheim-Dagsburg in Dabo or Eguisheim. An important jubilee was held to celebrate the 900th anniversary of his death in 1954.
