This medallion is the second issue of the Double Dragon series and celebrates the 100 years of railroad service between Singapore and Malaysia.

 

The Singapore Mint issued the first of the Double Dragon series with the release of the Keying in 1985. The silver medallion was struck in 999 silver and finished in proof. The Double Dragon series ran for three years, with the Singapore-Malaysia Railroad silver medallion in 1986 and the final First Flight medallion in 1988. For each design, a one-ounce and a five-ounce medallion were issued. At the time release, the issue price for the former was S$65.00 while the latter was S$230.00
