Alberta Government Telephones (AGT) provided telephone service to most parts of Alberta from 1906 to 1991. In 1990, Alberta implemented the privatization of public enterprises and established Telus Communications. In 1991, Alberta provincial government sold its shares of AGT to Telus. At this point, the AGT has officially entered history.
