Comment

Jacob Kaufman and Talmon H. Rieder established Merchants Rubber Co. in 1903. Production of footwear began in 1904. In 1907, Merchants Rubber and it's local competitor, Berlin Rubber Co. were taken over by the Canadian Consolidated Rubber Co.
