This token comes from Quebec City. There was an article on this one in a 1998 issue of the periodical TCNRS (Volume 34 - No. 1). Thus, this store was run by Edgar Langlois. He opened a bookstore in 1910, but changed its vocation in 1912 to become a tobacco shop (keeping a section for magazines and newspapers), which was located at 42 rue St-Jean near Côte du Palais. He retired in 1962, just two years after moving his tobacco shop to 1134 rue St-Jean. It is said that the use of this token would have been in the early 1920s.
