La Artesana was a consumer cooperative in the Poblenou neighborhood of Barcelona. The consumer cooperative La Artesana, also known as La Familiar, is one of the oldest in Barcelona. It was founded in 1876 by a few workers, in a small shop on Calle del Ferrocarril, and from there they moved to another place on Calle Mayor del Taulat. In 1897, Sant Martí de Provençals and other towns were added to Barcelona. Poblenou became just another neighborhood in the city of Barcelona. Later, the cooperative moved to Atila's passage, so they had 18 members. Later they had a house in Calle de Venero, and since then they began to be successful, and the number of members increased to 58. It then moved to Paseo del Triunfo (Rambla del Poblenou) and the members dropped to 47. Finally, they bought the premises on Calle de Marià Aguiló corner with Llull, where they occupied a ground floor, to which they added a floor, used as a café, theater and secretarial units. The inauguration of the expansion works was on September 4, 1921 . The Artisan Choir Association was created, a chess club and, in 1934, a new section, the women's section. After the Spanish Civil War, La Artesana subsisted thanks to the conversion of the ground floor into a small market where everyone could buy. In July 1995, he disappeared, as a result of property pressure, and a farewell ceremony was held on July 2.
