Comment
C" countermark for "centimes" when the new franc was introduced in 1960. Note the reverse accents on the obverse ("È" instead of "É").
Two varieties of 5 francs are known and can be found on this countermarked coin:
-El Mon.# 25.10a: right "5" bar;
-El Mon.# 25.10b: curved "5" bar.
Both varieties bear the words "CONTR. -1951-".
The Société Coopérative de Thaon-les-Vosges was founded in 1909(Elie 2003, p. 454).
