Comment
Olkusz is a town in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland.
Sigismund III ( Polish: Zygmunt III), born June 20, 1566 at Gripsholm Castle in Sweden and died April 30, 1632 in Warsaw, was a prince of the Vasa dynasty, elected King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania in 1587. He also became King of Sweden on the death of his father John III in 1592. Deposed from the Swedish throne after a brief civil war by his uncle Charles IX in 1604, Sigismund did not relinquish his rights. This led to a series of wars between the two kingdoms. On his death, he left two sons, Ladislas and Jean Casimir, who both reigned. It was he who transferred Poland's capital from Krakow to Warsaw.
