Comment
This coin was issued by Floryn Jenever as part of a promotion campaign. In cooperation with the Royal Dutch Mint, they produced a serie of seven coins based upon designs of 17th century Florynen of the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands (Dutch Republic). (Source:Terug naar de Florijn, in Dutch)
The Friesland version is a complete (obverse and reverse) replica of the original 28 Stuivers from Friesland. The other six coins have the same reverse and the obverse is a replica of the corresponding Florijn.
*Most commonly the image of the coin is described as a Frisian farmer or a nobleman. Historically this is not completely accurate. In 1581 they used an anonymous portrait that was later described (in 1589) as an elderly Frisian. (Source: Friese boer, in Dutch)
