To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Independence of Singapore, the country's national Singapore Airlines, commissioned a special commemorative medal minted in limited edition. The medal was sculpted by Jane A Lunger of the Franklin Mint Sculpters Studio, with the design on the reverse derived from the national flower of Singapore, Vanda Miss Joaquim. This limited edition solid bronze medal was given to the Raffles Class passengers (now known as Business Class) during the anniversary. The gift was packaged in a purple colour outer box adorned with the palm-tree logo of the class. Inside, the medal was housed in a foam lined box, with an included Lucite easel stand. Passengers had the option of displaying the medal on the easel or using it as a paperweight.
An unnumbered Certificate of Authenticity was included.
