"Nouasseur Air Base, located 20 km south of Casablanca, was a major US Air Force Strategic Air Command (SAC) base, designed to receive B-36 and B-52 nuclear strategic bombers.
Nouasseur, built between August 1951 and June 1952, had a 4,000-metre runway and could accommodate all types of aircraft used by SAC. The base became fully operational in July 1952.
When Morocco gained independence in 1956, King Mohamed V's government asked the Americans to leave Morocco. They began to leave in December 1959, and the base was closed on 15/08/1963."
