MENZEL: RRRMr. Behaim is believed to have built the first globe and had compiled great knowledge of the new world including maps of the coastlines of the St. Lawrence seaway in Canada (hint to the famed map of Vinland) and the straits of Magellan. He was a contemporary of both Columbus and Magellan and likely collaborated with them with maps.
