On March 12, 1851, President Manuel Isidoro Belzu, at the request of the Municipal Council of La Paz, decreed the founding of the National Mint of Peace.

 

The National House of the La Paz Currency was released with the minting of Medals Commemorative Coins cut of 2 Soles, designed to celebrate this momentous event.
