Comment

This attractove 39mm 1 Troy Ounce .999 fine copper coins was minted to be used at renaissance fairs. They are valued at 2 Crowns (2 Dollars) each and were to be used in place of United States currency to purchase food, beverages and merchandise at the fair. The program did not gain any acceptance and the company that issued the coins went bankrupt. Depicted on the obverse is Princess Mary, daughter of Henry VIII, who later ruled England as Queen Mary I. She is also known called Bloody Mary because of her many executions of Protestants in her attempt to restore Roman Catholicism in England. The reverse features the Royal Coat of Arms of England, the legend "Coin of the Realm" and the date 2011.
