Bielsk Podlaski is a town located in Bielsk County, in north-eastern Poland. It is the home of around 27,000 inhabitants.
Bielsk Podlaski was given city status in 1495. The Carmelites Church and monastery in Bielsk was founded in 1641 by Adam Kazanowski and dedicated to the Mother of God of Mount Carmel.
Bielsk Podlaski has a rich Jewish history which was wiped out in the Holocaust.
