A Midsummer Night's DreamOn the hill of St-Gilles, when night falls, Wurzel, the wood sprite, tells the wonderful story of the Vallée de Villé.
Le Rêve d'une nuit d'été is a colorful, lively show retracing the wonderful history of Alsace through 58 different tableaux.
At nightfall, from the top of the Saint-Gilles hill, Wurzel, the woodland elf, accompanied by his faithful donkey companion Victor, tells the wonderful story of the Val de Villé and Alsace in general.
Wurzel is part of the soul of the Valley's inhabitants, embodying their past, present and future, without losing or betraying himself. Following the narration of this mischievous little elf, the show's main character, we'll take off for 1h30 of enchantment.
Over the years, Le Rêve d'une nuit d'été has brought together 18 villages, 50 associations and 1,500 volunteers, working year-round to offer spectators an event of the highest quality.
A Midsummer Night's Dream is not just a dream, it's a grandiose and unique show, the biggest open-air spectacle in eastern France.
The biggest show in Eastern France
For 6 evenings at the end of July and the beginning of August, St-Gilles Hill is covered in light, water and fire, offering you the largest stage in Alsace (over 2 hectares). The enchantment of Le Rêve is also due to its exceptional geographical location. The hill and church at the top of the hill, facing the audience, are the natural backdrop for the stage. Every evening, over 500 extras slip into the costumes of their ancestors and relive the great history of Alsace through the little stories and legends of their valley.
