This coin commemorates the 200 year anniversary of the independence of the city of Veenendaal. Before 1795 Veenendaal was governed by the city Rhenen. With help from the province of Utrecht, Veenendaal was declared independent on 30th of June 1795. (Source, in Dutch: Gemeente archief Veenendaal)
