The "Drom Yehuda" bus cooperative was established in 1931 through a merger of two cooperatives, "Darom" and "Yehuda". Until 1951 it operated mainly in the southern part of Israel, until it was merged with two other bus cooperatives into "Egged" which continues to operate nationwide until this day. Drom Yehuda was the only road transportation operator to have ever issued a metal token.
