Comment
This token was intended to get a discount on the price of the stay. This hotel was established on the site of the citadelle of Namur and was connected from its inauguration on May 21, 1899 by a funicular which took its departure to the plant. On August 23, 1914, the hotel was heavily bombed, resulting in destruction and a violent fire. It was never rebuilt.
The present token bears the traces of this fire-casting and twisting of the metal and blackening - ,which was found at the scene by a worker during the clearing. It is therefore left in the condition in which it was discovered.
