Michigan Railway Company was a subsidiary of the Michigan United Railway Company (incorporated 1906) which operated inter-urban railway lines from Jackson, Michigan to Battle Creek and from Battle Creek to Kalamazoo. - Michigan United Railway became Michigan Electric Railway Company in 1923 and both of these railway lines were discontinued in 1928. - The Michigan Railway Company also operated electric trolley service within Battle Creek, Michigan from about 1916 to 1924, later replaced with bus service. - Railway fare tokens were issued as early as 1916;
One fare cost 10¢ but one could purchase 4 tokens for 30¢.
