The current casino was inaugurated on June 29, 1912, only fifteen months after the start of construction. The Trouville-sur-Mer casino is a casino inspired by the Louisiana theme. It was built in a colonial style as evidenced by the two paddle wheels visible from the entranceBut the casino was soon abandoned in favor of the casino in Deauville, which was a triumphant success and attracted more and more wealthy customers. This failure led to the resignation of the mayor and, from 1936, Trouville continued to lose inhabitants. Mayor Fernand Moureaux then decided to orient the seaside resort towards a more popular and family-oriented clientele[6].
