A series of four checks (8, 4, 2 and 1 Double) was privately produced by Mr L. L. M. Jones of Guernsey, proprietor and part time coin dealer until he retired in 1972. He produced the tokens as giveaways with each plaster-of-paris wall plaque that he sold between 1969 and 1972. He produced plaster wall plaques of Channel Island scenes and items of current interest (IE., portraits of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II). These were often hand-coloured and sold as souvenirs. The tokens were all struck in Birmingham. Only a few of the 1 Double were produced as his business closed down in 1972.
