Comment
Glasgow, Montana, was originally known as Siding 45, as it was the 45th rail siding west of Minot, North Dakota, as the railroad was being built. The name for the town was selected in 1887 by a common practice of spinning a globe until it stopped, and where the railroad clerk's finger was became the name of the town. The globe stopped with the clerk's finger on Glasgow, Scotland.
